The Royal Dishes that Mughal Emperors Left Us!

Indians have a very strange relationship with Mughlai dishes, especially Biryani! We eat in joy, we eat in sorrow. We eat it in celebration, we eat it in mourning. We eat it when we want to have something and eat it even when we don’t know what to eat. Biryani perhaps will be the leitmotif of Indian culture which would be feasted across the nation and by all subcultures.

If you are a die-hard fan of Mughlai dishes, Zaareen takes things up on a notch and tease your taste buds with their delicious scrumptious portions of a qualitative menu.

So what makes ZAAREEN so extraordinary?

Let's check the cuisine journey we loved to had:

  • Chelo Kebab (4/5)

Chelo Kebab is a Persian dish in which freshly made kebabs are served on long grained aromatic rice. I was lucky enough to taste the Legendary Chelo Kebab at Peter Cat. But, Zaareen made a decent attempt in delivering soft, tender and delicately flavoured Chelos. Marinated in curd, lemon, and spices, it lends the kebabs a tangy taste, while leaving a mark on the palate.

  • Qeemah Biryani (4.5/5)

Succulent piece of perfectly spiced meat, enveloped in kewra scented rice, emanate an irresistible aroma that makes one hungry instantly. This Biryani Platter, with an egg, topped with beresta, and a bowl of Mutton Keema definitely smells and tastes royal!

Naan (4/5): Coming to Naan, the perfect accompaniment for any side dish, this teardrop-shaped flatbreads was soft, pillowy cushions with rippled surface, and smothered with butter. They were utterly delicious!

  • Kadai Paneer (4/5)

We Indians have a thing for Paneer! Totally enjoyed the flavours and taste of Kadai Paneer. Greatly goes well with Naan.

  • Kadai Chicken (4/5)

The chunks of meat are cooked in an onion and green pepper chili based Masala and layered with finger licking dressing. The whole dish has a unique heady and spicy flavour which sets it apart from the Kadai Paneer.

  • Shahi Firni (4.5/5)

Phirni owes its origin from the Mughal cuisine. Being a sweet tooth person, the Firni came in earthen pots topped with edible rose petals and pistachios. Buttery soft, creamy and rich in taste, the Fhirni helped me to calm my stomach after the heavy meal.

A complete meal in itself, Zaareen has enough varieties to please one and all. The menu is curated to suit all occasions - meals - appetite - whether it’s a lazy Sunday lunch, to a boisterous get-together or be it formal dinner with your in-laws.
