’This is the season of cakes and bakes and great foods, and the Kolkata Market by Karen Anand that’s worth remembering. The celebrated food writer Karen’s X MAS Edition Kolkata Market was something really larger than life with more than 50 exhibitors from across the country, choices of beer, cocktails, wines and cheese at great prices, restaurants offering different cuisines, groovy retro music, amazing gourmet shopping experience, and the Great Food Quiz anchored by none other than the host of the event, the celebrated food writer and cook Karen Anand herself. More, the rewards for the correct answers were a beer or two or even some products that generated an energy wave among the mass.
This was the Christmas eve and the best time to see, sip, shop and soak in the sun. Starting from the fresh, organic veggies and fruits at HelloRaw, the organic tea at Oh Cha! the healthy snacks at Flavour Box to the handmade desserts of The Sweet Story, Sweet Destination and many others brought the best of the local produces. And not only these, there was everything that one may crave for.
The Dutch liquor Ketel One own hearts of the patrons with their signature Vodka cocktails while the event’s Good Time partner Kingfisher Beer Counter was the most active place for true reason. And after all, Fratelli Vineyards brought the most party pleasure being the Wine Partner at the event.
Even that’s not all. There was more in foods and in beauty and fashion as well. The stalls included everything from top brands of Kolkata’s eateries to premium handmade chocolates to designer dresses, jewelries, natural and organic beauty products and all.
The exotic pizzas from La Cucina - Hyatt, were made from the scratch and baked in the oven in front of us and the aroma filled the air copiously.
We tasted some of the very best pizzas from La Cucina as well as the Asian and South Eastern cuisines from The Kitchen Kolkata and The Orient, served in the farm-to-fork manner.
And last but not the least, we tasted some amazing varieties of sauces, dips and jams from K's Kitchen (Karen own brand) which tasted too good to be true.
