Are you a big fan of South Indian Food?
Do you know, where you can find the best fusion of North
& South Indian dishes?
Guys, today I am going to take you to the world of
yummilicious and delicious journey of food where I have enjoyed the fusion of
North & South Indian food.
This food hub is located near swimming pool area, salt lake
sector 2 in Kolkata and the place name is Tanngo Chutney. Tanngo means the
combination of salt & spicy food whereas Chutney means, Kya re bhai, yeh b
mujhe samjhana hoga... Kidding guys, Chutney means smashed food.
Since, I stay near salt lake and I didn't had idea of this
place so suddenly while going towards Gupta Brothers, I discovered this. So,
last friday we thought to explore this hub with my office buddies. I found the
ambiance very soothing followed with soft instrumental music. This restro has a
big sitting space with accommodation capacity of 60-70 people.
We were around 10 guys so we planned to order varieties so
that we can enjoy each of these dishes. Our count includes some of the best
dishes. These were:
1. Kesaria Tea
Jodi tumi Bengal e Cha na khele, tahole ki
khabe. Yes, this is true words that Tea is a Bengal tonic and without that no one's
day and evening starts or ends. Tea served with kesar is just a bliss.
2. Ice cream soda
Just a unique drink, I had ever tasted.
Soda ice cream, it's really a odd combination but trust me, you will love that.
3. Baked Stuff Potato
Have you ever though that potato can
be stuffed with veggies and covered with Cheese. Never had thought of this but
was the best one I tasted. 100% recommended.
4. Special Kebab Platter
If you are two and willing to
enjoy veg kebab platter, then you are at the right place. They serve well
decorated platter with Sliced idly, paneer, potato seek and ontrays. Quantity
is too good .
5. Cheese Coconut Dosa
If you are a lover of South Indian
food then definitely you will love this one. Dosa with loads of cheese and
coconuts crumbs make this one of the best love.
6. Mushroom & Cheese Idly
I am sure one can be shocked
after having this item and cannot determine whether they are having fried
potato or idli. Idli was so crispy and combination with sautéed mushroom and Schezwan
sauce. Highly recommended.
7. Dal Makhni Dosa
Since I am veg lover and I love to have
dal makhni with tandoori roti. Never heard of dosa with dal makhni. This was
just an experimental item for me and my group. But our order comes with
delightness. Loved it!
8. Gulab jamun
I am sure everyone have tasted Gulab Jamun
in various sweet corner and for sure some will recommend some brands. I think
one should taste here as well. Soft and warm gulab what else you want to make
your day. Better than ever I had anywhere.
9. Trutty Fruity
This was one of the best desert to close your
food journey. A big glass that was filled with fruits, cream and big scoop of
ice cream.
Summarizing this journey here, I recommend this place for
qualiy fusion of North and South Indian food with excellent hospitality and
well mannered staffs. Rs 500-600 is enough for two to enjoy a fusion food
journey.
